BREAKFAST AT BILL’S RESTAURANT

Quite a few years ago my favourite restaurant, for getting dinner in Wimbledon, closed down and was replaced by Bill’s, but it wasn’t until Saturday, and about five years after, that I actually went to eat there.

Breakfast is by far one of favourite meals; as much as I love dinner and dessert they just aren’t as versatile, and I would eat it at any time of day. I had heard a lot of good reviews about Bill’s but the only thing that had put me off was every time I had gone past was the sheer amount of buggies that was piled up inside. I have no problem with babies or buggies but when I want to sit down for a quite meal or a catch-up Bill’s never made it to the top of my ‘must try’ list.

As it was approaching payday, and I actually still had monies, because I budgeted hard, Vanessa and I decided to wake up early and head to Bill’s. It always seemed so dark from the outside so we were pleasantly surprised when we went in and not only was it quite empty but it was really well lit and spacious!

The staff asked where we wanted to sit and we picked a round table under the light perfect photos. Initially the plan was to get pancakes, because pancake day was fast approaching, but after a quick look at the menu we decided to go savoury and get dishes that we are synonymous with – scrambled eggs on toast for me and a bacon roll, with fried egg, for Vanessa.

Of course though I couldn’t refuse to order a plate of streaky bacon, buttermilk pancakes and maple syrup to share between us.

I’m not one for waking up early on a Saturday morning but I can definitely say this was a Saturday morning well spent. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly we will definitely be back at Bill’s pretty soon to try some other dishes on the menu in the future.
